AF Vandevorst
AF Vandevorst is run buy An and Filip who both graduated from the Fashion school of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1991. for the next several years they would work for an on varying lines of apparel. An started as first assistant at Dries Van Noten and Filip was a freelance designer for commercial brands and some television programs. It was in 1998 that the AF Vandevorst collections started being presented twice a year in Paris. The designers win the highly acclaimed “Venus de la mode” award for “Futur Grand Createur.”

They have designed for television shows, art shows, movies and plays. AF Vandevorst was invited by the Belgian government to show the 2001 Spring/Summer collection in Tokyo; in the same year their work is shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. They continued to win awards and acclaim for their ready to wear designs for years to come, but it wasn’t until 2006 that their linger collection, “Nightfall” was introduced.

Nightfall is simple in design and nature, but the effects are wonderful. Simple nuances and and details like silk trims and juxtaposed lines against black fabrics show the style and awe of AF Vandevorst. Open cup bras that sing, and everyday wear items to comfort and caress your body through a long day at home or in the office. Bustiers in gorgeous fabrics complimented by the simple items like slips and pajamas. These are accompanied by an array of colorful stockings and hosiery for those young at heart.

AF Vandevorst is entering their 19th season of ready to wear designs and their 3rd year of lingerie design. They have time and time again demonstrated their passion and skill in each and every collection. I can’t wait for next season’s collections!
